Service Technician Job Description

General Summary:

Evaluates and verifies customers concerns, identifies additional needed repairs & services.

Reports To:

Service Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all repairs and services are completed by the agreed promise time
  • Repairs vehicles "right the first time"
  • Completes an MPVI with every vehicle
  • Practices active listening when talking to customers about concerns and requests
  • Stays current on training: ASE, Factory, New model, diagnostic tools and safety
  • Test drives vehicles with customers to verify concerns
  • Updates story on each line in ADP with correction notes (Used stores to hand write on RO)
  • Respects all tools and equipment owned by KAG and returns immediately after usage
  • Owns tools to accommodate work according to skill level
  • Dresses according to KAG standards: Provided uniform, shirt tucked in. Maintains a well groomed appearance appealing to customers
  • Meets or exceeds the departments documented service goals and budget
  • Identifies additional work with integrity and only suggests repairs and services that are needed
  • Follows Key Auto Group documented process and procedures via handbook
  • Identified and supports opportunities for process improvement
  • Builds strong work relationships with other employees through communication and being team oriented
  • Speaks clearly and effectively with co-workers and customers
  • Assist other technicians when needed
  • Takes direction from dispatcher as delegated by the service manager
  • Obeys all traffic laws and regulations when driving company and customer's veheicles
